At the Death House Door is a personal and intimate look at the death penalty in the state of Texas through the eyes of Pastor Carroll Pickett, who served 15 years as a death house chaplain. In the course of this career, Pickett presided over 95 executions (and recorded an audiotape of his thoughts after each one) - including the world’s first lethal injection, and the execution of at least one man who is now thought to have been innocent. Pickett's story is a remarkable and timely illustration of the reasons why a nationwide, grassroots movement to end the death penalty is drawing so much support even from those who once favored capital punishment.

Please join us in Pierce Hall for a special advance presentation - there will be some food and a post-screening discussion. It's a great opportunity to learn more about (and get involved with) the movement to end the death penalty.

(The film will be broadcast on the Independent Film Channel on May 29th at 8 pm.)
