An evening around the intriguing Volkoren label that is home to the likes of 16 Horsepower, Brown Feather Sparrow and these two bands:

The Dutch emo-pop group AT THE CLOSE OF EVERY DAY amaze with their finely released album 'De Geluiden Van Weleer', in book form. Their surprising, and at the same time playful or sometimes dreamy, folk-pop works well in combination with the Dutch language word play of Minco Eggersman (who is also a part of hard/indie/emocore band The Spirit That Guides Us). Erik -Spinvis- de Jong joins in on 't Hellend Vlak' and the version of Doe Maar's 'Bang' effortlessly wipes the floor with Doe Maar's Musical plans. Something else to know: 'Zalig Zijn De Armen Van Geest' was a remarkable debut that led to them being the support act for 16 Horsepower in the AB; an occasion which has also been released on DVD in the meantime.

The Dutch-speaking duo ANDERSON also come from the Volkoren stables and can be labelled as electro-acoustic indie pop. Or rather Kings Of Convenience meets Postal Service. Their debut 'We Radio Anderson' was released in early 2005, produced by Minco Eggersman (see above), and has already received fine reviews here.
