The Asylum Seeker Resource Centre is Australia’s leading provider of aid and advocacy to asylum seekers living in the community and in detention. Caring for over 4,000 asylum seekers (many of them children) from over 60 countries with no entitlement to Centrelink services or Medicare, and no right to work to support themselves or their families. The ASRC receives no Federal Government funding and is less than five per cent funded by State Government. Instead, money is raised through donations, grants and sponsorships from individuals, companies and philanthropic bodies and benefits like this!
