Asian Impressions November 3, 2009

Travel to the Far East in this new show at the Gardens. As guests enter the Hilbert Conservatory through a bamboo pagoda, they will see the embodiments of Asian garden design, including a miniaturized hill and pond, hanging baskets of conifers, beautiful shoji paper screens, trickling water features, and floating red gossamer. Over 30 bonsai specimens will be on display, enclosed by a bamboo gate that emphasizes the idea of solitude. This shows promises to offer any visitor a wonderful spot for relaxation and contemplation.
