Ashland Chautauqua: An Evening with Juana Briones June 25, 2009

Witness history in its most compelling form – first person historical portrayals at the 10TH ANNIVERSARY of ASHLAND CHAUTAUQUA. Trained scholar/actors take on the roles of historical figures, appearing in costume and presenting exciting living history performances. This year's theme will focus on AMERICAN DREAMS: PROGRESS IN BUSINESS & INDUSTRY including 5 evening performances at the Band Shell begin at 7:00 pm with musical opening acts, then a living history performance at 8:00 pm. Opening night on Tuesday begins with entertainment entrepreneur Walt Disney followed by "First Lady of Food" Julia Child on Wednesday, rancher/businesswoman Juana Briones on Thursday, a local history performance with local actors portraying Ashland County’s leaders in business and industry possibly including Charles Kettering, Flexible founder Hugo Young, F E and PA Myers of Myers Pumps, and T W Miller of Faultless Rubber on Friday, and innovator/inventor Benjamin Franklin as the Grand Finale on Saturday.
