This exhibition is designed to showcase the talents of African American artists in the city of Philadelphia. In celebration of The African American Museum in Philadelphia's 30th anniversary, this exhibition will depict artists' interpretations of Black History, Black Pride and Black Beauty in various mediums. African American artists have been at the forefront of documenting and interpreting the Black experience in Africa and its Diaspora. Their impressions provide glimpses of black life. The works will display individual perspectives in reference to historical events, historical figures, everyday life, and aesthetic values. Artists' statements will reflect the genesis of their creativity and their worldview.
