Santa Monica, CA – 18th Street Arts Center presents “ArtNight at 18th Street,” a quarterly free art and music event, on Saturday, September 29, 5:00-8:30pm at 18th Street Arts Center, 1639 18th Street, Santa Monica, north of Olympic Blvd. This edition features gallery receptions, free concerts, site-specific art installations, and artist open studios. MUSIC: California Choro Collective – A gathering of some of Southern California’s best Brazilian Choro musicians, including Mitchel Walker, Eva Scow, Ted Falcon, Ami Molinelli, and others. Bobby Matos Afro-Cuban Jazz – One of LA’s most popular Latin jazz bands returns to 18th Street. EXHIBITIONS: Incognegro – New and recent visual works by Mark Steven Greenfield exploring African-American depictions in American pop culture through blackface imagery. (AND) Guatemalan Forced Migration – Photos from Guatemalan refugee camps in Mexico by Manuel Gil in collaboration with writer Oscar Gil-Garcia. OPEN STUDIOS:
