Artists After Hours May 23, 2009

Special evening event features local artists on Saturday, May 23, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Imagine a beautiful Mansion with a panoramic view of the city’s sparkling lights below. As you stroll through the home, taking in the architecture and furnishings, you sip wine and listen to live music.

Imagine no more! On Saturday, May 23, you can be a patron of the arts at Pittock Mansion. You will personally meet local artists whose beautiful and unique work is featured in the Mansion’s Museum Store. From 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. you will mix and mingle with the artists, while enjoying complimentary refreshments and taking in the ambiance of the home.

Featured artists include:

* Alex Blendl, a Northwest native, self- taught photographer who is a specialist in historic photographs
* Ulf Bjorklund of Artonomy, a photographer specializing in natural & architectural photography who created a new line of postcards exclusively for the Mansion
* Jude Cornwell of Judee Moonbeam Studio, a textile artist who uses richly colored fabrics & architectural details from the Mansion in her line of totes & bags made specially for the Pittock Mansion
* Peggy Harkins of Fiber Alchemy, who created a beautiful, hand-carved wall hanging that features a design found in the Mansion
* Cari Quistberg of Crystal Quest, a jewelry designer whose exquisite work features fine Austrian and natural crystals
* Linda Steider of Steider Studios, a glass artisan who creates one-of-a-kind kiln-formed glass coasters, platters and boxes designed exclusively for the Mansion
* Aaron Wilson, a multi-media watercolorist who created a line of stunning artwork featuring realistic and romantic views of the Mansion

Many of the artists will display special works that will only be available for purchase during the event.

Admission to the event is $10.00, and advance ticket purchase is required. Call 503.823.3624 to purchase tickets. Pittock Mansion members & volunteers receive free admission with an advanced RSVP.
