Anthony McCall works in film and installation. Over the past few years he has exhibited at Tate Britain, London; the Mead Gallery at the University of Warwick; the 2004 Whitney Biennial; Centre Georges Pompidou / La Maison Rouge, Paris; Galerie Martine Aboucaya, Paris; Galerie Thomas Zander, Cologne; Gagosian Gallery, London; MACBA, Barcelona; Museum für Moderne Kunst, Frankfurt; and Nationalgalerie Hamburger Bahnhof, Berlin. He is represented by Sean Kelly Gallery New York, where he will show in February 2007. Recent exhibitions have included Into the Light: The Projected Image in Contemporary Art 1974–1977 at the Whitney Museum in 2001; The Expanded Screen: Actions and Installations of the Sixties and Seventies at the Museum Moderner Kunst in Vienna in 2003; Expanded Cinema: Film as Spectacle, Event and Performance at Dortmund Kunstverein; Eyes, Lies and Illusions at the Hayward Gallery in 2004; The Expanded Eye at Kunsthaus, Zurich, 2006; Art Unlimited at Art/37/Basel, 2006; and Beyond Cinema: The Art of Projection at the Hamburger Bahnhof, Berlin. A monograph on his work, Anthony McCall: The Solid Light Films and Related Works was recently co-published by New Art Trust / Northwestern University Press and Steidl. Recent interviews with McCall have been published in Frieze (May 2006) and Bomb (September 2006).
