We’re hot! There’s no getting around it, what with the opening of the DOG DAYS OF SUMMER AND HOT CATS – when we partner with the Richmond SPCA for a night of dog and cat art, silent auction, fund raiser, fashion show and fun with our pets. August 27, 2010 is the opening night and reception from 7 to 10 p.m.

Here’s the line up:
7:30 – All Media Art Show Gallery talk and awards presentation for this themed show by Virginia artists featuring dogs and cats.

8:00 – Critter Fashion Show – guests walk their fashionably dressed pets down the runway and the SPCA jurors award prizes for best-dressed, cutest couple and more. Richmond SPCA adoptable pets also walk the runway to show off their special features and potential.

9:00 Silent Auction closes and winners announced. All evening long, guests will have been bidding on items exclusive for pets and pet lovers including: pet beds and handmade pillows, Kitty TV (aka hand painted birdhouses), pet goodie baskets, cat and dog paintings, pottery, jewelry and more. And all monies from the silent auction go directly to the SPCA!

And not only with the people guest enjoy refreshments, but the pets have their own special buffet. Three Dog Bakery from Stony Point Fashion Park have prepared hors D’oeuvres that are the envy of the two-legged guests!

It’s free and open to the public. Proceeds got to the Richmond SPCA. So bring your pet and join us for one of the most fun art events of the year!

Two other exhibits will open on August 27 and continue through September 19,2010

· IN THE GARDEN
Inspired by their love of butterflies, flowers and all that is green, Linda Allard, Andrew Clarke and Tara Courtland will have transformed the Centre Gallery into a garden of artistic paradise. This mixed-media exhibit, featuring jewelry, photography and paper, will transport visitors from the gray streets of urban Richmond into a lush and vibrant oasis.
