The acclaimed Art of Time Ensemble, under the artistic direction of Andrew Burashko, not only plays music, they tell the stories behind the music.

RUSSIA IN EXILE, a special concert featuring an eclectic collection of Russian music runs April 20-21 at Harbourfront Centre’s Enwave Theatre.

Several of Russia's most celebrated composers abandoned or spent much of their productive lives outside of their homeland: genius Igor Stravinsky left Russia for Paris in 1910 and died in New York in 1988, leaving behind a canon of some of the greatest works in classical music; Sergei Prokofiev fled the Revolution in 1918 for the West, and electrified audiences of the 20th century. Accompanied by a live film mix by Tess Girard, Russia in Exile features some of the greatest musicians in Canada: Barry Shiffman and Benjamin Bowman, Violin; Steven Dann, Viola; Thomas Wiebe, Cello; Joseph Phillips, Double Bass; Andrew Burashko, Piano.
