The Scream” hallowed out by Edvard Munch is still being heard today; the missing ear gouged out by Van Gogh is bandaged in his self portrait but far from concealed by our imagination; the “Freak” photos of Diane Arbus, haunting her perhaps to end her life even though her insight lives on - these are a few of many art noir creators, bringing to light the fact that dark art is indeed enlightening.

NoHo Gallery LA is pleased to present a group showing of “Art Noir” artists featuring Tara Greer’s paintings & breathtaking triptych oil tapestries on canvas portraying the evolution of darkness into the light.

We welcome you to come and relish the works and artists of the wicked, the brazen, the satirical, lowbrow, humorous, underground and outright outrageous! Carole J. McCoy, Dan DeBevoise, Denis Olsen, Dennis Beckstrom, Donna Letterese, Fred Andrews, Maestro Alex Gregory, Monica Ford, Nancy Butler-Beckstrom, Paz Winshtein, Rony Armas, Sia Aryai, Tara Greer, Tom Ford and more. Come to our free and open reception this October 17th. Live music will greet you at the door. From 6:30 – 10:30 pm, a good time will be had by all!

Tara Greer

A graduate of the Otis School of Fine Arts, Tara finds that Esoteric & Dreamlike are two words that best describe the subject matter in her paintings. “I feel my work should be felt as well as seen,” she says. “I always strive to learn and implement traditional painting techniques in my work. A heavy influence of my work is 'The Symbolist Movement' of the late 19th century as well as the techniques of the traditional Icon painters.”

Always working in a creative atmosphere, some of her credits include: toy design, paint master prototypes for the Cartoon Network , head painter at Don Post Studios that included paint work for Lucas Film, scenic painter at Tomorrowland for Disney Imagineering, and a creator of a marvelous array of innovative 22 carat gold & silver jewelry pieces available in our gallery gift shop.
