ART in bloom

ARTiculate gallery will blossom for the June 14th show, “ART in
bloom.” From Monet's garden to Van Gogh's sunflowers, it is time
to continue the tradition of bringing nature to the canvas. WVSA
ARTiculate ARTist Apprentices will focus on many different ways of portraying the beauty of nature on a variety of mediums.

Commission a floral portrait—Apple Blossoms to Zinnias, impressionistic to abstract—commission your own unique portrait created by WVSA ARTiculate ARTist Apprentices. You can commission an interpretation of a Master’s work or let our students paint your favorite flower—just name your flower. Price ranges and artistic styles vary, and you are sure to be thrilled with your art—your very own piece of spring!

Do not miss your chance to participate in this original show that helps youth with special needs. Through the ARTiculate Employment Training Program, our ARTist Apprentices not only perfect their creative talents, but also learn vital career and life skills. This spring show will give students the opportunity to share their artwork with you and other potential customers, while allowing them to demonstrate the knowledge and skills gained from ARTiculate. Students receive commissions on the work they sell, and the remaining revenue supports the program.

The gallery, located at 1100 16th Street N.W., is open Monday through
Friday, 10 am to 6 pm. Opening Night Reception is on June 14, 2007
from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. At the opening reception, commissioners have the chance to view their commissioned floral images for the first time, as well as enjoy refreshments and meet the artists.

WVSA ARTs connection is a 501(c)(3) community-based arts and

WVSA ARTiculate gallery is a youth-run art gallery, hosting eight original shows each year. Shows highlight the work of the ARTist Apprentices in the ARTiculate Employment Training Program.
