Art History Lecture - the Pilgrim's Path: Romanesque Art on the Road to Santiago September 11, 2008

In the eleventh and twelfth centuries, stone churches of unprecedented size accommodated large numbers of pilgrims headed for Santiago de Campostela in northern Spain. Artists in Moissac, Autun, and other sites decorated these churches with monumental sculpture of extraordinary expressive power.
