With Terri Whitlock, curatorial associate, photography, SFMOMA

In conjunction with the exhibition Henry Wessel: Photographs, SFMOMA curotiral associate of photographer Terri Whitlock discusses the social subtext of Wessel’s pictures. In particular she considers his photographs within the discourse of New Topographics, an important exhibition organized by the George Eastman House in 1975 that included examples of his work. The program concludes with a visit to the exhibition galleries.

Free with Museum admission.

wish i could be there. this exhibit just floored me: what a lot of good images i wish i'd shot myself. that's just not something you find much at photo exhibits, in my experience, no matter what style you like.

It was a good talk. SFMOMA should videotape them.

Wessel still teaches at SFAI.

There are some brief interviews with him on the computers at SFMOMA, but I can't seem to find them on their website.
