Members of the local Armenian community are holding a walk and memorial program at 1PM on Sat., April 25, 2009, at the Philadelphia Museum of Art (2600 Benjamin Franklin Parkway) to remember the victims of the 1915 Armenian Genocide and unite against acts of genocide perpetrated in the world today.

The event will begin with a commemorative walk along Kelly Drive and will be followed by a program on the Art Museum steps, which will include speeches by John Evans, former U.S. Ambassador to Armenia, and Darfur Alert Coalition's Ibrahim Hamid. Other program highlights will include poetry, singing and dancing by Armenian youth, as well as a requiem service to remember victims of genocide.
