Armed Forces Day - Doncaster, Saturday 3rd July 2010.

Programme of Events:

All are welcome at all of the events.

10.00am Market Place Activities to commence including:

WWI Display and soldiers
Trench Warfare demonstration
WWII Display and soldiers
WWII Weapons exhibit
Walkabout appearance by ‘Winston Churchill’
Musical performances by ‘George Formby’
Anderson Shelter
Army Camp simulation.
Home Front Kitchen
Interactive Talk on Home Front – 30 minutes.
WWII Scots Guard and Mascot Cows.

Sine Fm to broadcast live adjacent to Crawshaw’s Butchers.



10.15am Civic Party to arrive at Mansion House.
10:20am Armed Forces Day Parade to Mansion House
10.25am Veterans and other organisations to become part of the Parade by joining from the end of Silver Street.
10:40am Civic Mayor and Elected Mayor to take the Salute with Military Representatives, Civic Party to join the Parade.
10:45am Parade to Minster of St. George
11:00am Service in Minster of St. George

Exhibition to open to the public, in Mansion House Ballroom.

British Army Paintball Range open to the public at Regent Square



12:15pm Assembled Group to participate in Flag Lowering Ceremony in grounds of Minster of St. George, to include the Last Post, the Kohima Exhortation and the Ode to the Fallen and Reveille.

12:25pm Assembled Group dismissed.
Participants to take part in activities around Doncaster Town Centre as desired.

12:45pm Reminiscence Project to commence in the Mansion House Council Chamber

Corps of Drums performs in the Frenchgate Centre



Armthorpe Elmfield Band plays at the Performance Area adjacent to T J Hughes



Danum Scout Band performs in Regent Square.

13:00pm Doncaster Concert Band performs on Minster lawn.
(Spectators to bring their own seating/picnic blanket).

13:45pm Armthorpe Elmfield Band performs in the Frenchgate Centre

Danum Scout Band plays at the Performance Area adjacent to T J Hughes



Corps of Drums Band performs in Regent Square.



Tug of War tournament, Regent Square.



15:45pm Danum Scout Band performs in the Frenchgate Centre

Armthorpe Elmfield Band performs in Regent Square.

16:00pm Presentation of Trophies and Closing remarks by Civic
17:00pm to 18.15pm Concert in Elmfield Park by Armthorpe Elmfield Band (Spectators to bring their own seating/picnic blanket).
