Armed Forces Day & Freedom of Blyth Parade – Saturday 25th June 2011

The Elswick All Arms Branch of the Royal Artillery Association has organised the Armed Forces Day parade for the town of Blyth on Saturday 25th June 2011.

The Mayor will take the salute together with the Vice Lord Lieutenant for Northumberland Captain (Rtd) A I B Moffat RD DL RNR from the Contingents forming the parade.

This is a joint Freedom of the Borough and Armed Forces Day Parade and march passed to be held on Saturday 25th June 2011 in Blyth to celebrate those units which hold the honour of the Freedom of the Borough, and wish to exercise their right to parade through the town, 203 (Elswick) Battery 101 Regiment Royal Artillery (V), The Northumbria Army Cadet Force, The Air Training Corps, together with ex-service associations and youth organisations in the Borough of Blyth.

1045 hrs Parade forms up in guards under BSM 203 Battery
1055 hrs BSM hands over the parade to the Parade Commander.
1057 hrs Parade Commander falls in the officers.
1100 hrs Parade marches off under the Parade Commander.
1110 hrs Parade Commander “Eyes Left” at the 1st Gideon saluting Dias, Guard Commanders “Eyes Left” at 1st Gideon Dias, 2IC’s “Eyes Front” at 2nd Gideon.
1115 hrs Parade halts at the car park.
1125 hrs Parade Commander “Falls out the officers”
1128 hrs Parade Commander hands over to BSM 203 Battery
1130 hrs BSM “Officer on parade dismiss”
1230 hrs Curry lunch at 203 Bty TA Cente

Route:
Out of the car park onto Marine Terrace, right onto Renwick Road right at the round about top of Waterloo Road, down Waterloo Road passing the saluting Dias at the market place were the Mayor and Vice Lord Lt. will take the salute, onto Bridge Street turning right at Stannard House into Percy Street halting opposite the car park where the parade will be dismissed to return to their units.

There will be a buffet lunch and drinks at the TA Centre on Cowpen Road Blyth after the parade, all are welcome to join Major E Parker RA BC 203 (Elswick) Bty 101 Reg (V) Royal Artillery, his officers, men and guests.
