As parents begin to plan for the new school year, Arizona Connections Academy (ACA), a tuition-free, fully accredited virtual public school, is hosting a free information session from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 25 at the Glendale Adult Center, 5970 W. Brown Street in Glendale.

“This is a terrific opportunity for families to learn about our online program and individualized approach to education,” said Brian Rosta, ACA principal. “We follow the same curriculum as a traditional school, but students have much more flexibility in terms of when they attend live lessons and when they do class assignments. Students can work at their own pace, advancing quickly or taking extra time with teachers on subjects that are more challenging.”

The information session will cover several topics, including the school’s program and curriculum, the enrollment process, how teachers interact with students in a virtual environment, college preparation, social events, such as field trips and clubs, and other relevant topics. Because ACA is a virtual school, it is available to K-12 students who reside anywhere in Arizona. Tuition is free, and enrolled students receive a computer and books at no charge.

Parents are encouraged to speak with other parents of children enrolled in ACA to get their perspective of the online school. A recent Parent Satisfaction Survey revealed:

• 97 percent of parents agree that ACA’s curriculum is high quality.
• 97 percent of parents are satisfied with teachers’ helpfulness.
• 96 percent of parents are satisfied with the variety of learning activities.
• 96 percent of parents agree that ACA’s technology tools improve their child’s learning experience.
• 93 percent of parents would recommend Arizona Connections Academy to other families.
