Arizona Academic Decathlon Association's First Annual Silent Auction August 21, 2009

A night of cocktails, appetizers, short program about AADA and silent auction to raise a portion of the $80+k in lost funds.

For the past 25 years, The Arizona Academic Decathlon Association has been committed to promoting enthusiasm towards educational achievements through academic competitions for high school students. With participation from 39 high schools in Arizona, their national team has been ranked in the top three, nine times and also in the top five over 19 times. Even with the popularity and achievement from the association, this could all come to an end in the near future after funds were taken from the organization during state budget cuts.

The association is currently running off of corporate donations and carry-over money from last year – but they cannot support the program on this for much longer. The association board is urgently seeking help from the community and is on the quest to save their academic teams by hosting the first annual Arizona Academic Decathlon Kickoff Event and Benefit.

The event will feature a cocktail hour and appetizers, a short informational program about AADA and a silent auction. Entrance into the benefit is only $15. The event and benefit will take place on Friday, August 21st from 5:30 to 7:30 at SRP’s PERA Club, 1 E. Continental Dr. in Tempe.

Additional sponsors and auction items are needed and a 501c3 letter and 990 can be provided to any business willing to donate.
