He started out as a pianist, switched to singing, and even had a side stint as a philosopher. Now, Madrid-born Nacho Arimany is a percussionist, whose debut release, 'Silence Light,' featured West African guitar sensation Lionel Loueke and showcased Arimany on everything from Mexican whistles to body percussion. Rooted in the Mediterranean flavors of Flamenco, West Africa and South india, Nacho Arimany engages Cuban pianist Aruan Ortiz, Argentinean saxophonist Julio Botti along with bassist Michael O'Brian in a colorful dialogue that brings an authentic approach to today's avant-garde music.
