Yes, it was May of 1999 that Arbor Opera Theater became incorporated. We started by presenting concerts and small productions (Amahl and the Night Visitors and The Impresario) with piano and minimal costumes to raise funds for our first mail-stage production of Lucia di Lammermoor at Ann Arbor Pioneer HS. For those of you who remember, thanks for sticking with us as we've grown and developed!

This anniversary gala will feature singers from our past (and present) in a retrospective of scenes from operas produced during our first decade, including Lucia, La Traviata, La Bohème, The Marriage of Figaro, Trouble in Tahiti, and last summer's triumphant Don Giovanni. To add to the luster of the occasion, we're resurrecting the original, hand-made costumes for the performance! Plan to stay and gab at an afterglow where you can meet and talk with the artists.
