We've got two seperate topics on the agenda for our upcoming April Seattle Plone gathering. The first will be a highly interactive, brainstorming session featuring Dave & Dave of the Seattle Yacht Club (http://www.seattleyachtclub.org/) where they've identified 5 tweaks they'd like to make to their Plone site and they're asking for our expertise. The tweaks range from design, to usability, to more advanced functionality, and the session will allow folks to brianstorm ideas about the best way to solve their needs. This should be a great way for folks new to Plone to learn where to start for some of those basic tweaks they need to tweak the out-of-the-box look and feel of Plone.

The second presentation will focus on a survey product, ArchSurvey (http://www.zope.org/Members/dkesh/Surveys), built by one of our own Seattle Plone attendees Dan Keshet. The talk will cover the basics of installing ArchSurvey, creating and tweaking surveys in Plone, and will serve as an intro to getting started with one's own Plone-based Product development as we learn from Dan's efforts with ArchSurvey.

Our third Seattle Plone meeting was another big success with over 20 in attendance to hear Brian Dorsey's Intro to Python talk. While not a pre-requisite to working with Plone, the mere basics of being able to read and understand Python goes a long way when working with Plone. Brian's talk covered the basics of the core Python datatypes, empasized some the language's many strengths, and garnered a lot of questions and discussion amongst those in attendance.
