April Productions is proud to present The Vindication of Senyora Clito Mestres, starring Artistic Director Dragana Varagic. Over a decade after its original premiere, the production nominated for an Outstanding Performance Dora Award is re-worked and presented as a new staging with direction by Varagic. This tragic yet powerful one-woman story runs March 21-25 at Theatre Passe Muraille’s Backspace with an additional performance March 31 at the Isabel Bader Theatre.

Presented on the heels of International Women's Day, The Vindication of Senyora Clito Mestres speaks in fragile tones about a woman who finds herself unexpectedly at a crossroads, facing the loss of her husband, her child, her homeland and her identity, but finds salvation in her return to theatre.

In this new staging, Vargaric integrates text-based and image-based theatre while crossing live-action and video, allowing boundaries between fiction and reality to become blurred.
