You can sense it... spring is approaching! The chilly weather might finally disappear and be replaced by warm mornings with sunshine.

So let's enjoy the new season with a Friday drive up to Nashville, Tennessee. Leave Adairsville/ I-75 at 11am and scoot up the road to Chattanooga. Then find some back roads to meander over the mountains while heading towards Franklin TN, south of Nashville... nice scenery!

Check in at the ritzy Red Roof Inn or Sleep Inn.

Rest and recreate for a while at the hotel before German dinner at the Gerst Haus restaurant. Then back to bench racing and sweet dreams. Saturday morn brings a morning commute to classic Southern breakfast food at the Loveless Cafe... country ham, biscuits, gravy, and other manna from the kitchen.

Afterward we'll wander under the sun through some classic Nashville suburbs on the way to/through downtown Nashville, home of Printers Alley, the Ryman Auditorium, and Vanderbilt University.

Then, the Lane Motor Museum (www.lanemotormuseum.org) will entertain us with a wonderfully diverse collection of European motor vehicles... inexpensive!

A trip back to the hotel for regroup... dinner site (TBD). Steak? Seafood? BOTH?
And Sunday brings us back to town, either directly or with more GPS fun. The current list of RSVP's is 11 or so. Check your calendar- join in!

ADDITIONAL NOTE:

Chuck mentioned the Towing Museum in Chattanooga, a neat place to stop off for a tour. I don't want to start everyone's day too early, but if y'all wanna hit the road a couple hours earlier, then we can stop by on Friday morning. Otherwise, we can see it on Sunday afternoon (open 11-5). I'll leave that decision to the majority - of course, folks can stop by on their own as they wish. The plan is to stop in Chattanooga at noon, so folks who leave early can meet up with the later crowd, too.
