APPEAL OF CONSCIENCE FOUNDATION 2006 ANNUAL AWARDS DINNER HONOREES
July 29, 2006, New York, NY---The Appeal of Conscience Foundation today announced the honorees of its 2006 Annual Awards Dinner, to be held on Tuesday, Sept 19 at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City. His Excellency Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, President of Brasil will receive the Appeal of Conscience World Statesman Award; Bonnie McElveen-Hunter, former US Ambassador to Finland and Chairman of the American Red Cross, the Appeal of Conscience Public Service Award; and John A. Catsimatidis, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Red Apple Group, the Appeal of Conscience Award. Funds raised by the dinner are used to create programs that promote religious freedom and human rights through interfaith dialogue and cooperation in countries and regions vulnerable to intolerance and extremism. Rabbi Arthur Schneier is President of the Appeal of Conscience Foundation.
