Nashville, Tenn. – June 7, 2007 –The producers that brought you Dune, The Stand, Thinner, over 30 television movies, the highest-rated TV mini-series for two years in a row, countless award-winning documentaries and world-class comedy shows including Adam Sandler, Jay Leno, Jerry Seinfeld, Jeff Foxworthy, Tim Allen, Carrot Top, Drew Carey and Dennis Miller are proud to announce the filming of the movie, Apostles of Comedy. Apostles of Comedy will present world-class comedians Jeff Allen (Bill Gaither Homecoming Tour, “Happy Wife, Happy Life,” VH1’s “Standup Spotlight,” Comedy Central’s “Premium Blend,”), Brad Stine, aka “America’s Comic,” (GodMen, Promise Keepers, Tolerate This), Ron Pearson (Bananas, “The Drew Carey Show,” “The George Lopez Show,” “That 70’s Show,” Comedian of the Year nomination) and Anthony Griffith (Emmy Award performance for “Our Father,” Co-Star of the “Bernie Mac Show,” “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” HBO, frequent appearances on “The Tonight Show”).

The motion picture will be shot in two locations beginning with Belmont University’s Massey Concert Hall in Nashville on Saturday, June 23 (doors open at 7:15 PM, taping begins at 8:00 PM). Net proceeds from this show will benefit the Bridges Academy. The second taping will take place at World Outreach Church in Murfreesboro on Sunday, June 24 (doors open at 6:30 PM, taping begins at 7:00 PM). Net proceeds for this show will benefit World Outreach Missions. Tickets for either taping are only $10. Building upon the success of films such as Blue Collar Comedy Tour and The Original Kings of Comedy and the ever increasing need for wholesome entertainment that the entire family can enjoy, these Christian comedians provide carefully and cleverly crafted comedy that brings honest and heart-filled laughter without shame or guilt.

“For years, there has been a growing disconnect between the sensibilities of a large segment of the U.S. and the majority of films and television we see today,” says Mitchell Galin, Executive Producer. “Apostles of Comedy fulfills this growing need in which the whole family can enjoy a show together. These comedians express their faith by making people laugh,” explains Galin. While Apostles of Comedy may be imbued with faith and inspiration, it never loses its edge, which makes it relevant to today’s audience. According to recent figures, the potential Christian audience accounts for approximately 35% of the U.S. population.
