The Association of Professional Engineers,
Geologists, and Geophysicists of Alberta (APEGGA)
has included a one-day seminar on alternative
energy sources in the professional development
program of its upcoming 2007 conference. Non-
members of APEGGA are welcome to register for the
conference.

The alternative energy sources seminar is
facilitated by Marlo Raynolds, Executive Director
of the Pembina Institute, and includes the
following topics:
-- Context for New Energy Economy, by Marlo
Raynolds of the Pembina Institute;
-- Drake Landing Solar Community, by Gordon
Howell and John Kokko;
-- Wind, by Ray McKay of Enmax
-- Non-Conventional Methane Production, by Ian
Thomson of Canadian Bioenergy Corporation; and
-- Solar Case Study, by Kaz Schmocha of the
Alberta Research Council.

The seminar will conclude with a panel
discussion.

The alternative energy sources seminar runs from
8:30 am to 4:30 pm on Friday, April 27, 2007, in
the Telus Convention Centre in downtown Calgary.
Registration costs $350.00 and must be paid
before April 5, 2007. Registration includes lunch
with guest George Roter of Engineers Without
Borders speaking on "Engineering a Better World".
