PLEASE ADD TO YOUR EVENTS CALENDAR: Anybody Can Make Solar Ovens at Shadbolt Centre for the Arts' Rhododendron Festival on May 6, 2007. This is a FREE festival, open to the public.

"Kids" from 6 to 106 will enjoy creating and building free-form solar ovens. Its an edu-fun activity! Solar ovens can be designed to fold, i.e. for a summer camp.

If you're thinking of educational activities involving Climate Change solutions, renewable energy, green technology, or green energy, building solar ovens is one of them. Surf Goggle Images for "solar ovens" all over the world, even in Austria. Yes, Austria, not Australia. Surprised? Well, the Austrians and Swiss were very big, and very early, with solar ovens. Did you know that Switzerland uses only 1/11 the water that Canadians use, on a per-capita basis.

A teacher's experience: There are infinite successful solar oven designs! Using very accurate thermometers, we have seen young people create seeming "wild-looking" solar ovens that performed surprisingly well. Let them experiment - we can learn from kids!

Its happening under the Solar Power Roadshow tent at "Rhodofest" and everyone is invited. Free.
