Modeling himself after the androgyny of Boy George and Soft Cell, Antony delivers a haunting, emotion-filled chamber pop in a spectral, affecting tenor warble. In less skilled hands, it could all have turned precious and sentimental. But the emotional honesty and insightful intelligence of the songs and performance carry the day. Antony has sung studio backup and also toured with Lou Reed. He is an altogether unique and rewarding experience.
