Anouilh's play is based on Sophoclies' Antigone [..] The play tells the story of Antigone's tragic end, portraying every development in the monstrous disagreement with her uncle and king of Thebes, Creon.
The king's orders were unquestionable: death to anyone who tries to bury Polynices' body.
Nothing can stop Antigone, however, from bidding a proper farewell to her brother. [..]
