Love takes its usual beating when the
Lesbian/Gay Chorus of San Francisco
presents its annual anti-Valentine’s
Day cabaret, “Love Bites the Hand That
Feeds It,” on February 9 and 10, at 8
p.m. on the Main Stage at Theatre
Rhinoceros, 2940 16th Street at South
Van Ness in San Francisco.

Emceed by its own “Soprano with a Whip”
Carolyn Eidson, the chorus performs
selections that run the gamut, from the
70-year-old Broadway tune “Down With
Love” to Tom Lehrer’s catchy ditty “I
Got It From Agnes” to the “Neighbors’
Chorus” from the comic opera La Jolie
Parfumeuse. LGCSF is proud to showcase
the world premiere of “Your New Stupid
Boyfriend,” written by Bay Area composer
Jack Curtis Dubrowsky.

Under the direction of Stephanie Lynne
Smith, assitant direction of Michael
Anthony Schuler, and featuring original
“choralography” by Kirk Johnson, “Love
Bites” is a unique experience, where
depravity and fun go hand in hand. Both
evenings feature a variety of solo,
duet, and group performances and will
also include a 50/50 raffle. Concessions
are available for a donation. Saturday
night features a live auction. Don’t
miss this event!
