Annual Oktoberfest Historic Taverns of Greenwich Village September 25, 2010

With Oktoberfest in its second week, what better way to enjoy an evening than to learn about the history of Greenwich Village and its taverns, and then stop for some liquid refreshments along the way? On this tour you'll see some of the area's most classic pubs and speakeasies - all with historic associations. Stops include the haunts of Ernest Hemingway and Edna St Vincent Millay, a speakeasy from the 1920s once associated with founding father Thomas Paine, and the bar where Norman Mailer and RFK contemplated their political futures. Cost of refreshments is extra, so come armed with some extra cash and a thirst for history and spirits, and enjoy the comradery of a historic pub crawl.
