Oxfam Action Corps - Minnesota is thrilled to announce that Jim Lyons, Oxfam America's Vice President for Policy and Communications, will make a special trip to Minnesota to speak during the plenary session of the 21st Annual Nobel Peace Prize Forum, held March 6-7 at Saint Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota.

In honor of recent Nobel recipients Al Gore and the International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), this year's forum will focus on humankind's impact on the climate and what must be done to fight the devastating changes already occurring around the world. By speaking in the plenary session on the forum's first day (after a video message from IPCC chairman R. K. Pachauri), Mr. Lyons will help frame the entire forum's discussions with the human face of climate change.

As part of this important conference, Oxfam Action Corps - Minnesota will present two workshops on Saturday, March 7. We will build on Mr. Lyons' presentation with stories of climate inequity and courage profiled in Oxfam America's Sisters on the Planet video. The presentation illustrates how climate adaptation projects can help save lives and how the human consequences of climate change should be incorporated into the wider efforts for meaningful action on the climate crisis.
