The Pendleton Community Public Library Initiates Its Annual Food for Fines Program, the Entire Month of December.

Pendleton, IN – During the month of December, the Pendleton Community Public Library will be having its annual Food for Fines Program. The program will help stock the shelves of the Ingalls Food Pantry, at the South Madison Community Church.

The program will allow library patrons to bring one non-expired, non-perishable food item to the library, in exchange for $1 in overdue fines. The items will cover overdue fees only, and only fines up to $10.

The public is also encouraged to participate in the food drive. One book return slot at the library will be designated for food items.

Last year the Food for Fines program collected nearly 500 food items.
