STAR ART AUCTION, October 30 & 31

The Annual Art Auction benefiting Shipyard Trust for the Arts (STAR) will be held on Saturday, Oct 30 and Sunday, Oct 31. It's a silent auction all weekend, culminating in an exciting live auction Sunday, 5-7 p-m. The auction happens during Fall Open Studios at the Hunters Point Shipyard. Funds raised by the auction will support STAR's programs, which include an Artist in Residence Program and the "Pass It On" Program, providing free art workshops to non-profits in the surrounding Bayview-Hunters Point community; and many other efforts.

Over 100 artworks donated by the talented shipyard artists will be availaable. Come to bid on a wide range of great works at great prices, including painting, printmaking, watercolor, jewelry, sculpture, photography, and wearable art. Enjoy hors d'oeurves, wine from Layer Cake Wines. Plus a raffle, offering a chance to take home various gifts, such as cases of wine, theatre tickets, and gift certificates.

* SILENT AUCTION: View art and make silent or proxy bids all day Saturday, Oct 30, from 11am to 6 pm, and Sunday, Oct 31, from 11 am - 4:00 pm.

* LIVE AUCTION: Begins Sunday, Oct 31 at 5:00 pm. Bid Numbers require a $10 donation to STAR.
* LOCATION: Hunters Point Shipyard*, Building 101, 2nd floor, in "Gallery 101"
* OPEN STUDIOS is a free event with free parking. Visit the studios of over 150 artists.
* RAFFLE tickets sold all weekend, $2 each or 3 tickets for $5
