Anne Michaels, the internationally celebrated author of the best-selling Fugitive Pieces will read from her new book The Winter Vault. Set in Canada and Egypt, and with flashbacks to England and Poland after the war, The Winter Vault is a spellbinding love story that juxtaposes the momentous historical events surrounding the building of the Aswam dam, with the most intimate moments of individual lives. Fugitive Pieces earned Michaels numerous prizes including the Guardian Fiction Award and the Orange Prize for Fiction. In 2007, Fugitive Pieces was made into a film. Michaels is also the author of three acclaimed poetry collections.
