THE VOICE OF AN ANGEL BRINGS IRISH MAGIC TO PARRAMATTA

Australian Irish soprano Annalisa Kerrigan will bring her special blend of Irish magic to Parramatta on Friday August 28 as part of a national tour.

The performance at Parramatta Riverside Theatre follows the sell-out of her ABC Classics release, Ireland. Described by TV personality Ray Martin as having the voice of an angel – “so pure, so perfect, that whatever you are doing, you will want to stop and listen” – Kerrigan has performed to standing ovations throughout Australia and internationally.

Ireland is a poetic, funny and highly personal portrait of Ireland. From its haunting opening song to a heart-warming and spectacular finale, it embraces a wide range of songs and styles celebrating the joy of being Irish.

With more than 15 iconic Irish songs, including Danny Boy, Galway Bay, I’ll Take You Home Again Kathleen, When Irish Eyes are Smiling, The Rocky Road to Dublin, The Last Rose of Summer and Cockles and Mussels, this concert arouses much emotion and nostalgia.

“It's a funny thing, music. It brings us together, defines us, and makes us feel things we have buried deep within,” Kerrigan says.

“There are a lot of people with Irish heritage in Sydney and I know they will really enjoy and connect with the music and the show,” she said.

Kerrigan’s ability in classical and folk music is legendary in music circles. Trained in the Italian city of Florence, her grace and love for her music are a true source of inspiration.

Annalisa Kerrigan is available for interview and a limited number of gift packs of her CDs, Waiting on An Angel (ABC Classics) and Ireland (ABC Classics) are available for giveaway.

Tickets are $37/$33 concession. For more information and bookings: www.riversideparramatta.com.au or 02 8839 3399.
