The Ann Arbor Public Schools Educational Foundation is hosting the Second Annual Celebration of Innovation, Excellence and Appreciation. Please join special guest Russ Collins, AAPS Alumus and Master of Ceremonies along with Superintendent of schools, Dr. Todd Roberts, other members of his cabinet, Educational Foundation board members, and city and community leaders at this year’s event taking place on May 2, 2009.

This special evening will celebrate innovation and excellence in our public schools and include special recognition of the newly renovated Scarlett Middle School as a result of the 2004 Bond and Sinking Fund Millage. Additional highlights include recognition of Educational Foundation funded programs including MyAccess, highlights of some of the 40+ teacher grants funded this year, along with highlighting programs unique to Scarlett Middle School. Proceeds from this event will be used to fund Initiatives for Excellence in the Ann Arbor Public Schools in the 2009./2010 academic year including funding for enrichment coordinators supporting all elementary schools, Plan and Explore testing for every 8th and 10th grader, more than $35,000 for competitively based teacher grants, and literacy.
