The first trip of the new Columbia River Gorge hike series presented by Portland Audubon Society and PCC!

Angel's Rest is a difficult hike with 2.5 miles of steep elevation gain (1200'), thru narrow switchbacks, over a stream, a rock quarry, and finally to a spectacular viewpoint on the Angel's Rest ridge. 4.5miles round trip

80 miles long and 4000' deep, the Columbia River Gorge is among the most dramatic sweeps of scenery in the entire country. The gorge cuts through the Cascade Mountain range and down to the coast, featuring ancient lava flows, ice age flood evidence, dramatic waterfalls and lush forests. All 3 hikes in the series will be led by Audubon naturalist Steve Engel, who will lead a dialogue on the history, geology and biology of the region.

Fee goes to support the Audubon Society. Meeting location TBA.
