Austrian mezzo-soprano Angelika Kirchschlager is one of today’s most sought-after singers in her repertory."With a voice as ravishing as Angelika Kirchschlager's, nothing more is needed" (New York Times). She divides her time between recitals and opera in Europe, North America, and the Far East. One of the foremost interpreters of Mozart and Richard Strauss, her varied repertoire reaches from Bach, Mendelssohn, Schubert, and Berlioz to Brahms, Schumann, Weill, and Wolf. Kirchschlager will be joined on stage by a PCMS favorite, pianist Malcolm Martineau.

For her outstanding contributions to the Vienna State Opera, her home theater, the Austrian government awarded Ms. Kirchschlager the title of Kammersängerin in June 2007. As Austrian Chancellor Dr. Alfred Gusenbauer noted, “Angelika Kirchschlager is one of the greatest singers of our time…each tone is soaked by her captivating open-heartedness, sincerity and straightforwardness.
