After a very successful season in 2007 ANGELA AND PENNY’S HOLIDAY returns to Riverside for the end of the Summer School Holidays. From the moment the hot pink mini and caravan appear magically on stage, the audience will once again be captivated by the show which combines both familiar and original songs with plenty of audience participation, interaction and humour. ANGELA AND PENNY’S HOLIDAY will play for five performances only from Tuesday January 22 at Riverside Theatres.

The children will delight in moving from the sea, where they can scuttle like a crab, to the bush, where they can snuggle in their sleeping bags and help Angela catch the pesky mozzie in a cozzie.

Angela Moore and Penny Biggins have more than three decades of children’s entertainment experience between them, with pedigrees that includes ABC TV’s Play School and Newcastle’s Castanet Club.

Angela Moore graduated from NIDA and worked for two years with Freewheels Theatre-in-Education in Newcastle before joining The Castanet Club as a musician and comedian. As one of the founding members, Angela appeared under the pseudonym Betty B Plate, playing saxophone, performing, singing, tap dancing and go-go dancing. With over 200 appearances, the band played live in every state of Australia and overseas, including the Edinburgh Festival.

Penny Biggins is a performer, musician, writer and broadcaster who has a BA from the University of Newcastle. Penny was also a long term member of The Castanet Club and a pianist for Play School. In the early 90’s Penny presented Radio National’s Livewire program. Penny’s other radio credits include regular appearances on Radio National’s Comfort Zone, The Quiz, Life Matters and guest presenter for 702’s afternoon and evening programs. Penny has been a regular columnist for the Good Weekend Magazine, as well as freelance writer for The Australian, Sydney’s Child and the Sydney Morning Herald.
