ERASURE?S ANDY BELL TO PERFORM AT MEZZANINE IN NOVEMBER

The dance floor king Andy Bell is coming to San Francisco?s Mezzanine to support his solo debut album Electric Blue, with DJ sets in selected cities. These gigs are non-performance, except for two, one of which will be Mezzanine, where he will perform a few songs from Electric Blue as well as a few Erasure classics.

As one of the first mainstream performers to come out of the closet, Andy Bell has been a recording and touring pop sensation since 1985 when he belted out an impressive rendition of ?Who Needs Love Like That?? Musician Vincent Clarke soon teamed up Andy Bell and the duo formed Erasure. After countless hit albums and plenty of #1 hits, the band released their 2005 album, Nightbird. Soon after, Andy Bell released his first solo record, Electric Blue, an album which sees Bell out on his own.

Supporting Andy Bell at the Mezzanine show will be Postcoitus. With lyrics doting on relationships, fear, and (completely uninformed) abstract progressive theory, Postcoitus will be opening for Andy Bell with their Oakland-based dance music project.

Los Angeles-based band Viva K will open the show. L.A. Weekly raved about Viva K saying the band are "a fantastical, bohemian outfit of digital dreams.? Los Angeles?s Viva K will be kicking of the evening with vocals reminiscent of PJ Harvey-meets-Yeah Yeah Yeah?s and their completely unique electro-thrash sound.
