The Richmond Symphony & the Virginia Holocaust Museum will present And Their Music Lives On…A Recital Presenting Music by Composers Suppressed by the Nazis. This special program will be performed by David J.L. Fisk, pianist & Symphony Executive Director & violinist Jocelyn Adelman.

The concert features musicians whose work was adversely affected by the Nazis’ rise to power, Alexander Zemlinsky, a Jewish composer forced into exile after the passing of the Nuremberg Laws, Ernst Krenek, a contemporary forced to leave Germany because of his ‘degenerative’ modern music & Olivier Messiaen, a French aid-responder who was captured by Germans but continued to compose in a P.O.W. camp.

The pieces include Serenade In A Major, Sonata in F Major, Op. 3 & Quartet for the End of Time.

The event is free & open to the public however donations are welcomed.
