Singer/Songwriter/Storyteller Bill Champlin, namesake and leader of the seminal 60's S.F.- Bay Area rock band The Sons of Champlin, and former lead vocalist of the iconic rock/pop band Chicago, brings his solo endeavor to George's Nightclub's stage on Sunday January 22, 2012 for a very rare and special solo, acoustic performance.

Bill’s gritty, soulful vocals, and skillful musicianship on keyboards and guitar, promise an evening of music that will surely please even the most critical music fan/connoisseur.

Performing songs spanning Bill’s entire musical career, including his Grammy award winning compositions “After The Love Is Gone” (Earth, Wind, & Fire), “Turn Your Love Around” (George Benson), “Look Away” & “Hard Habit To Break” (Chicago), this show will highlight Bill’s incredibly rich and diverse musical history and legacy.

Coupled with his warm delivery and fan-friendly stories and anecdotes, not to mention his funny, witty, and often wry sense of humor, this show promises to be a rare glimpse into the life and times of one of rock music’s iconic musical legends. Several of Bill’s immediate family, singer/songwriters in the own right, oftentimes travel with and attend his solo acoustic shows, so there’s always a chance for a good surprise or two onstage !

Opening the show will be a rare solo set by Grammy nominated recording artist Bonnie Hayes. Bonnie is a prominent and prolific songwriter. Her artfully crafted songs "Have a Heart" and "Love Letter" helped restore Bonnie Raitt to superstardom with the multi-platinum, multi-Grammy-winning CD "Nick of Time." The songs of Bonnie Hayes have always been extraordinary, from "Shelly's Boyfriend", the post-punk bad girl anthem that put her on the map to the authentic passion of "Have A Heart" and "Love Letter." Writing for artists as diverse as Bette Midler, Robert Cray, Adam Ant, David Crosby, Booker T and the MG's, and Cher, Hayes has continued to craft songs one critic described as "sparkling clockwork mechanisms with a tendency to do the unexpected."
