Enjoy "An evening with Travis Elliott and Tucker Rogers."

Opening with Mariana Bell

Tucker Rogers - music is best described as rock and roll, mixed with improvised solos handcrafted in a jam style. Elements of blues, jazz, and traditional rock and roll are all blended with thoughtful lyrical melodies and catchy hooks.

Singer/songwriter Travis Elliott grew up in North Carolina where his dad started teaching him guitar by the age of 10. After his family moved to Virginia, he began writing his own songs and performing regularly around Richmond while still in high school. Influenced by the classic sounds of Elvis Costello and the Kinks as well as the modern nuances of Elliot Smith and Radiohead, Travis developed a signature hook-filled songwriting style that captures an audience, with a nod to his southern roots and George Jones.

Mariana Bell - The Australian-born, Virginia-raised Mariana Bell, began singing at age 6. As an alto in the Virginia Consort YC, she honed her flair for melody and harmony, performing in the National Cathedral and the White House and developing her alter-ego as a singer/songwriter. She wheedled her way on stage, singing backups or playing set breaks of friends' bands until finally she came to New York. While under the pretense of "Going To College" Mariana has played all over the city, at such venerable locales as Caffe Vivaldi, The Bitter End and The Living Room among others. Since then, she has continued to perform in New York and across the country. She has been interviewed on local television (Nantucket's PlumTV) and radio stations(Charlottesville's WTJU 91.1FM)as well.

Nurturing her penchant for rollicking good times and traditional folk tunes, she has also played with an Irish band, Doc and the Hods, at the now-defunct but famed Bottom Line and many an Irish bar about town. With the acquisition of a vintage electric guitar, she has branched out from folksier roots and often plays her own approach to melodious rock with a band of merry men (and women) who think her tunes are cool. She has developed her style with the likes of Shawn Colvin, Bruce Cockburn, and Ani Difranco in mind. However, she's also been likened to Joni Mitchell, and John Mayer.

In the past year, the 22 year-old has been touring across the country from Nashville to LA, winning audiences over with her rhythmic and soulful unique live performances, filled with unashamed banter and passionate, exquisite vocal style.

Sound will be provided by Dave Scott. He is one of the best sound engineers in Central Virginia.
