The Reading Public Library Foundation will present "An Evening with Tracy Kidder," on Friday, November 18, at 7:30 p.m. This is the second event in the Helen A. Nigro Speaker Series, and it's one you won't want to miss! The program will be held at the W.S. Parker Middle School in Reading.

Tracy Kidder is a best selling author whose books provide fascinating portrayals of subjects as diverse as elementary education, homebuilding, and nursing homes. In researching his most recent bestseller, "Mountains Beyond Mountains," he spent years exploring the challenges of deep poverty and disease with an extraordinary man, Dr. Paul Farmer. Mr. Kidder will speak about Dr Farmer 's courageous quest to cure the diseases that afflict people in the most remote and impoverished areas of the world, and how he was personally affected by the opportunity to know this great man. Tracy Kidder's work has been described as "full of the author's genuine love, delight and celebration of the human condition." We hope you will join us for this inspirational, compelling, and exciting program.

Tickets for this fund-raising event will be $15 ($17 at the door) and may be purchased at the Library. All proceeds benefit the Reading Public LIbrary Foundation's endowment fund. Call 781-942-6703 for more information.
