Kevin Renick is the voice behind the now-legendary song "Up in the Air," from Jason Reitman's Oscar-nominated 2009 film, which earned him worldwide attention.

The St. Louis musician has parlayed this unlikely event -- whereby an old-fashioned cassette tape submitted to Reitman at a university lecture found favor with the director -- into an increasingly unorthodox music career. This has included the release of three CDs in little more than a year (including his newest one, Come On Down, which will be presented for the first time at this Sheldon concert), regular performances around St. Louis and beyond both solo and with his band, and media attention ranging from the Washington Post, to Katie Couric's CBS Evening News show, to a recent article in the U.K. Film magazine Empire, which chose "Up in the Air" as #5 on their list of Best Movie Songs of the Year.

Kevin's emotive original tunes and stories about "life through the looking glass" have earned him a loyal following, and he will be showcasing some of his most heartfelt work, including brand-new songs, at this special dual CD release concert, which will feature his full band and several special guest musicians such as Gretchen Hewitt and Annalise Raziq of the Chicago band Nobody Nobody Sent.

Doors open at 7pm. All tickets are available only at Sheldon Concert Hall's box office the day of the show. Call (314) 533-9900 or visit www.kevinrenick.com and www.thesheldon.org for details.
