An Evening with Jamaica Kincaid

When: Monday, February 25, 2008 7:00 p.m.

About: As an author, Kincaid has written several critically acclaimed works including “Annie John” (1985) “Lucy” (1990) and “The Autobiography of My Mother” (1996). Much of her writing critically examines the small-mindedness of her native Antigua and juxtaposes it against the ignorant opulence of North America. Through her works, Kincaid often mentions of the central relationship in her life, with her mother.

In addition to writing books, she has written several short stories and essays and enjoys gardening in her spare time. She is also a visiting professor and teaches creative writing at Harvard University.
