An Evening with Garland Jeffreys Band June 23, 2011

Garland Jeffreys music is a unique blend of rock and roll, reggae, blues and soul. With a brand new and long-awaited CD release set for May of 2011, Garland Jeffreys plans to barnstorm the East Coast from Canada down to North Carolina from April through summer's end.

In 1973, he released his first solo album, Garland Jeffreys, on Atlantic Records. Around the same time Atlantic also released a 45 RPM single of a song called "Wild in the Streets" that was not included on the LP. The track received airplay on progressive FM album-oriented rock stations and has become one of his best-known songs. The song has been covered by numerous artists including punk pioneers The Circle Jerks. Ghost Writer brought Jeffreys wide acclaim and he was voted best new artist that year by Rolling Stone.
